Design for a New Footy Magazine

Australian Rules is a sport which is played for 6 months of the year (from Autumn to Spring) in Australia. Its fans are as passionate as those of any other sport with the possible exception of quoits..
Each year there are a number of magazines released which preview the coming season.
This is my theoretical design for one such publication.

If you look at my previous post you'll see that I discuss the design of soccer magazines, and how they can often be very experimental and cutting edge in their execution. I don't think that this is as much the case with Footy magazines, which tend to be a little more conservative in their look. Of course, this doesn't preclude them from being stylish.
